One night at The Elan by OXO in Umalas, and it punched above what I expected. Check-in at 3pm was handled by Cynthia from guest services, who met me and walked me through the whole place, where everything lived, how it all worked, rather than just handing over a key. Small thing, but it's the difference between arriving and settling in. The unit is genuinely well specified: a kitchen you could actually cook in, a Bluetooth speaker, bedding I slept properly on, and a bathroom with strong water pressure and a rain shower. The AC was properly cold without being noisy, which in Bali is not a given. Location is the quiet end of Umalas, almost no traffic on the street, and 10 minutes by motorbike to both Seminyak and Canggu. Moodest Umalas is about a 10-minute walk away and does a decent breakfast for under 100k a head. I went looking for something to complain about and came up empty. First time in an OXO-managed property. One night was not enough. Recommended!
